Lunik Digital has been involved in television production since 1992.

It started off by producing computer graphics for CAK, the education television department in Malta. Then it produced programme openings such as that for “L-Ghodwa t-Tajba”, “Ghalina t-Tfal”, the TV drama series “Nibqghu Hekk” for TVM, amongst others, and also channel idents such as that for the Sports Channel for Melita Cable.

Not long after, having invested in more sofisticated computers, Lunik Digital was one of the first production companies which started using non linear editing facilities. Some of the programmes that were edited by Lunik Digital were the TV series “Fredu l-Fra” and “Ir-Ronnie”, the programme “Caqlaq” (all these transmitted on TVM), “Magazin 21”, inserts for “The Jerry Spiteri Show” (Super 1), the series “San Valentino”, and inserts for “Kurrenti” (Net TV).

Lunik Digital also took care of the filming and editing of programmes such as “Fis-Salon”, “Magazin” (Net TV), and “X’inhu Ghaddej” which was transmitted contemporarily on Super1, Max Plus and Education 22. One cannot but mention the full production of the daily programme “Almanakk” which won the MBA award for the best cultural programme (Max Plus).

Other productions by Lunik Digital are corporate profiles for Marsovin, Law Quintano, Pharmamed and Fitwell. Filming and editing were done for the instruction video for BOV employees. DVD authoring for the tourist video “Malta & Gozo”; voice over recordings and dubbings for “Il Diario” by Onion Studios (Italy) and for the instruction video of “Bambino Mio”.

These are but a few of the productions in which Lunik Digital was involved either by filming, editing or graphics. At the same time there were also the teleshopping programmes, such as “X’Se Nieklu”, and a multitude of adverts, from simple ones to more artistic and demanding ones.

Today Lunik Digital is equipped with 3 nonlinear editing suites namely Media 100, VT Edit using uncompressed video and DeckLink Exreme with Final Cut Pro HD, with the latter capable of editing and outputting HDTV. Another valuable asset is the right facility to record and mix live programmes (up to 24 cameras) without any loss of broadcast quality. Lightwave 3D is the core software for 3D animation and graphics in openings and special effects.
